Ok, I never thought I would say this:
I am seriously getting tired of watching the Brewers at home.
They are playing shit baseball for the fans that actually care about them. Tonight (the game isn't even over!!) Kendall has let numerous balls get passed him which actually allowed the cubs to score in the 1st inning in the first place, Hart took a bad line on a ball to give Theoriot a triple instead of a single and also let two runners score (should be 0 - 1 Brewers at this point in the game) and then Kendall let ANOTHER ball passed him to give the runners an extra basein the 7th(?I'm guessing I'm too pissed to go back to the tv to see what inning it is).
I am done blogging about these guys until they care enough about us to play hard for us. This is horse s$*# and I, as a hardcore Brewers fan, can't watch without wincing.
PLEASE GUYS, TURN IT AROUND!!!! I CAN'T STAND TO SEE THE FU$#*%G CUBS BEAT YOU!!!
I'M GONNA GO TRY TO STOMACH WATCHING THE REST OF THE GAME. PLEASE GOD, LET THEM COME BACK AND BEAT THESE BASTARDS!

Game 2 against the cubs
Hello everyone!
I'm sorry about the delay in coverage, but I was on vacation in St. Louis.
I went to that game 4 by the way, and I don't know about you, but I almost fell off the bleachers when Braun hit that ball in the top of the ninth! But that was then, when they were still playing the game of baseball.
Now, they are playing something else...
So yesterday's loss, understandable, the Cubs outplayed the Brewers. They beat Torres. That's ok, everyone makes mistakes. But today, this was something completely different.
Sheets, despite the numbers, pitched a great game. He was plagued with bad luck and shotty defense, which led to a one inning rally that ended the game in the sixth. I still can't understand why all the runs in that inning were earned since Braun's sliding... whatever you call it when someone slides to catch a ball and misses, allowed two runs to get in. If Braun would've just collected the ball, it would've been a 0 rbi single, instead of a 2 run triple, but whatever.
I don't want to talk about the game anymore or I will walk out of my house and start a fight with the first cubs fan I see (which wouldn't be hard seeing's how I am surrounded by those bastards), and I don't want to go back to prison. J/k or am I?

Game 1 against Giants
Welcome back!
The All-Star Break is behind us and a new half of baseball is here. And tons of excitement come with it, partly because the Brewers are in a heated division race to start the second half, and partly because CC makes his third start for the Brewers today. Well, technically yesterday, so here's how it went.
Awesome! Another complete game for Sabathia shows why the Brewers traded LaPorta(Yes, this is coming for a guy who said it might not be worth it, but you can point that out later ;)). 9 innings pitched, 10 strike outs, 0 walks, 4 hits, and the only mistake he made was giving up a homer to Aaron Rowand for the Giants' only score. Sabathia fireballed his way to his second complete game with the Brewers which helps him put up some pretty good numbers:
24/6 k/bb ratio
1.875 ERA
Average of 8 IP per start
He's scored twice including 1 homer!
I don't know about you, but for the mean time, I am extremely happy with the CC/LaPorta trade.
Player of the Game: Fielder. He hit a 3 run homer in the 7th the blow the game wide open.
Stats: 2/4 run, walk, 3 rbi
Runner-up: I had to hand one out in this case because the stats were so close. Cameron. He hit a three run jack in the 9th.

Pitcher of the game: This is getting a little one sided when CC pitches, isn't it? When there's only one pitcher in the game, it has to go to him. CC!
Play of the game: Fielder's three-run home run. This put the Giants in the closet and locked the door. They weren't even thinking comeback from 6 down.

All-Star Game
Hello all
So, yesterday was the all-star game, and of course, like always, the AL won. The final was 4-3 after a Michael Young sac fly in the bottom of the 15th. Yes that's right. 15 innings were played yesterday, and I hope that this never happens again. I mean, yes it does decide who gets home field advantage in the show, but seriously, 15 innings that the best players in the game were playing. 2 pitchers that were specifically asked not to pitch, had to because there was simply no one else. I believe that there needs to be another way to determine home field advantage as opposed to risking the health of the players involved in the all-star game. Maybe a coin toss or rock-paper-scissors? All it is going to take for it to be changed is for Brad Lidge, who warmed up to come in the game 6 different times, to report that he is sore. The Phillies closer is a major part of that team, and if they hope to keep in contention, they need him to be 100%. Anyway, I'm sorry for this half-hearted blog today, I just didn't want to lwave you with nothing to read.
Oh, and Ben Sheets pitched the first two innings with 3 K's and 2 BB's (I think) and Braun went 0-3 just like Corey Hart.

Home run derby
Hello all!
Amazing. Record-breaking. Once in a lifetime. All of these can be used to describe a certain player in the Home Run Derby. Unfortunately for the Brewers fans out there, it wasn't Ryan Braun. It was Josh Hamilton, the Center Fielder from the Texas Rangers. He finished in second place, but not after setting a new record with 28 home runs in the first round. He ended up finishing second to Justin Morneau from the twins, but he definitely stole the show, hitting three homers over 500 feet.
Ryan Braun tied for 3rd, but that is a lot better than what anyone thought after his first six outs of the derby. He didn't hit his first homer until then, and I was thinking that it was a Brewers curse to not make it to the second round (Fielder last year). But he put together 7 long balls in the last 4 outs and hit another 7 in the second round, 3 short of making the finals.
Since again, it is the all-star break, and there isn't much to talk about, I am encouraging people to leave questions for me. Either leave them as comments or e-mail me at webweb20@yahoo.com.

Since today is an off-day...
Hey guys,
Since there is no specific Brewer's related news today because there is no game, I will give you some other news.
Congratulations to Ben Sheets! The starting line-ups for the all-star game were released today and Sheets was named started for the NL team. Sheets is 10-3 with a 2.85 ERA in 123 innings with 108 strikeouts and only 28 walks. Good luck Ben!
As you all know by now, Ryan Braun will be participating in the State Farm Home Run Derby tonight at 8 om E.T. on ESPN. Hopefully he will do better than Prince did last year in San Francisco.
With nothing else to talk about, I will update you on how one of my favorite Brewer's prospects is doing.
Jeremy Jeffress has been an odd story since being drafted 16th overall by the Brewers in 2006. He has had his drug problems and such, but as far as baseball goes, he has been extremely inconsistent. He was dradted right out of high school because of his heater that occasionally hits triple digits; however, since being in the majors he has been on and off. This year, he is 3-5 with a 4.68 ERA with the Class A Brevard County Manatees. In 10 starts, including one shutout, and 1 refief appearance he has tallyed 80 strikeouts and only 25 walks in 57.2 innings pitched. Rated one of the team's top prospects, Jeffress could develop to be an extremely dominating pitcher, but at the same time, he could fizzle out of baseball completely. This is my opinion and you can hold me to it, keep your eye on Jeremy Jeffress.

Sunday Baseball Victory
Hey all, have a good weekend?
Personally, mine was highlighted by two Brewers home losses to the Reds, so yeah, it was a little upsetting. But that all turned around on Sunday, didn't it?
CC started today and had me extremely irritated to start the game. I kept thinking this is the guy that we got for Matt LaPorta and Rob Bryson? He hit two batters in the first three innings and didn't record his first strikeout until the 4th, not to mention the trouble that he pitched out of in the second and third. He allowed two runs, and minimized the damage. But after that he started to cruise and by the end of the game he had tabbed 9 innings pitched with 2 earned runs 9 strikeouts and 1 walk, not to mention his first Brewers homerun! Eat your heart out Zambrano, the Brewers now have the best power hittin pitcher in the league, lol.
Anyway, Bill Hall is going to get picked on here, because I really don't like him. Earlier in the year, he played like crap and when his playing time suffered he asked for a trade? If I was Gord Ash I would've said "there's the door, don't let it hit you." The guy is garbage. He left 4 runners on today, all of which were on 2nd or third. However, he did redeem himself a little by getting a single in the bottom of the ninth and eventually scoring the game winning run on a Craig Counsell sac-fly.
Pitcher of the game: Obviously, since there was only one Brewer's pitcher, CC Sabathia wins this one.
Position Player game of the : Gabe Kappler came up clutch with the game tying rbi.
Play of the game: There are a few of these because there were several good plays.
1. CC's homer; hopefully, the first of many.
2. Gabe Kappler's game tying rbi
3. JJ Hardy's back handed toss
4. Craig Counsell's game winning sac-fly
Congratulations to Matt Gamel for drawing two walks in the Futures game today at Yankee

Brewers V. Cardinals -- game 2
Ok well, the Cincinnati Reds, no problem right? WRONG! You heard me write. Apparantly we can't win a series, at home, against a sub-par 45-49 team. The funny thing about this post is that the game isn't even over. It's in the top of the ninth and the Brewers have just given up 4 runs. Call me a quitter, call me a non-believer, I can take it, but at least I am realistic and I know my team. When Gange goes in, and gives up back-to-back homers, you know all of the energy has just been drained out of the team. How, you ask, do I know this? Because the Brewers haven't come back from it once this year. Ok, I understand putting Gange in, we have to use him, I mean, he's gettin the 10 million from us either way right? Fine, just don't put him in when he can hurt the team! My favorite part about it is that, Ned Yost... the fu&#@ng brilliant guy he is (obvious sarcasm), decides, hey, we have a couple guys on, we're only down four, let's try to stop the bleeding. So he put in MOTA???? WTF Yost! What are you doing? Id there anyone else out there who thinks that maybe Yost cut a deal with Lou Pinella where if the Brewers somehow "mysteriously" fall out of contention for two years in a row that Yost will get a million dollars or something? A kid with downsyndrome could manage a game better than this guy, no offense to everyone out there with downsyndrome.
Honestly, this game brings into perspective how much the Brewers are screwed this year. We need to do three things. Here they are in order from most to least important.
1. FIRE NED YOST!!!!! -- seriously, this guy has prooved over and over again that he doesn't deserve to be managing a major league team, or even a little league team for that matter.
2. DESIGNATE MOTA FOR ASSIGNMENT! -- seriously! just do it. Look at the stats, he's not getting any better, he was bad when we picked him up... that's why he was available.
3. FIND A WAY TO LIMIT THE DAMAGE THAT OUR 10 MILLION DOLLAR TOWEL BOY CAN DO!!! -- I take that back, a 10 million dollar towel boy would be a better investment. Gange needs to retire or something (Has anyone thought that maybe his fall from glory doesn't have anything to do with Boston or Texas and maybe that it has something to do with the more strick STEROIDS policy?). I don't ever want to see him within 10 miles of Miller Park unless he is wearing a cubs uniform.
Ok, I feel better now. I'll throw in some game stats now.
Pitcher of the game -- Seth McClung. Even though he got the loss, he put up a quality start. I am going to give props to Edinson Volquez for pitching a stellar game. This guy is going somewhere.
Position player of the game -- Prince Fielder. He had the Brewer's only RBI's that he got on his 18th homer of the year.
Again this is Mike Webster calling for Mota to be packed up and sent somewhere else. Designate him while we are still in contention! I don't know about Ned Yost, but I want to see the team that I love playing baseball in October.

Well, I could write about the game yesterday where the Brewer's defense cost them the game, but I think that would be too depressing and I am in a good mood. I will tel you that Braun hit his 23rd home run of the year, and Bill Hall hit a clutch 2-run double to put the crew up 5-2 at one point. Manny Parra pitched weel enough in 6.1 innings to get the win; unfortunately, his 6 strike-outs as opposed to 1 walk didn't matter after three errors let in 2 unearned runs and took the decision out of Parra's hands. But again, that's enough about the game.
One thing that I have been looking for lately to distract myself from thinking about the Brewers after bad games is searching for relievers on the trading block. Here are the good ones that I found.
Houston Street from Oakland is on the block. Whether or not he will go is not certain, it will depend on the offers.
---upside: good young reliever who can close games effectively. He started out the year poorly, but since then he has been really sharp with an occasional off-game.
---downside: arbitration-eligible next year which could cost the Brewers some cash. Also, trading for another closer would just make another hard decision about who to use as a closer.
Jack Taschner from the Giants may be moving because of a recent change in the San Francisco pitching staff. This would be a good pickup for the Brewers because he is a good short reliever who attacks the strike zone.
---upside: Despite starting a little rough this year (a 5.40 era through the first month) he has only given up 5 earned runs in 21 innings (2.14 era). He has also, throughout his career, had a very good strikeout-to-walk ratio (career 109-63, last year 51-29, this year 24-14).
---downside: Since he has been one of the giants best relievers all year, he may come at a steep price.
The Mets' Aaron Heilman has been rumored to be obtainable recently because of a rough start to the year. Through May he had a 6.68 era, but since then he has had around a 1.75 era and has struck out 24 batters and only walked 6.
---upside: very durable pitcher who used to start.
---downside: Since he is considered key to the Met's bulpen, he will come at a high price.
Scott Schoeneweis from the Mets is considered the one player with the best chance of being traded from the team.
---upside: a 2.72 era for the year. Not to mention adding a lefty to the pen would be a nice addition for most teams.
---downside: He is currently on a 3 year +10 million dollar contract and if one thing is short on the Brewers it's money. Also, despite his 2.72 era on the year, he struggled in June allowing 8 earned runs in 10 innings.
I believe the best option would be to look at Kack Taschner and hope that the price is right. He could give the brewers that last needed piece and help them get a final boost over the cubs. Will it happen... probably not.

So as I hope most of you are, I am a huge packers fan. Born and raised on Brett Favre, I have never seen a game that he didn't start, therefor, he is one of my favorite football players of all time. He carried the packers during my entire lifetime, and now he gets slapped in the face.
I absolutely HATE Ted Thompson. He has been running the team the way HE wants to without regard for the fans. He has openly said before that he doesn't care about his popularity with the fans, which to me means that he doesn't care about us at all. How can you tell a future hall of fame quarterback, "no, I don't think I want you to lead my team this year. Instead, I would like to trust this completely unproven quarterback, that I drafted, and hopefully it will make me look good." You know what, maybe he's on to something and maybe he'll be a wash this year... but not to even give him the chance, that's bull s*&#!!

Hart makes the All-Star game

I meant to post this earlier but there was a storm and my internet cut out.
Corey Hart is going to the all-star game! He won the final vote along with Evan Longoria, which means it was directly because of fans like you!

Thursday July 10, 2008 -- Win for the Brewers
Happy Thursday everyone.
Dave Bush started today, and I don't know about all of you, but every five days or so I brace myself for a blowout, and not a good one. However, recently, Dave bush has been getting better. Over his first four starts he had an era of 6.75. In 22.2 innings he had given up 17 earned runs, 12 walks and 16 strike outs. He continues to get better every month posting a 5.52 era in may(giving up 8 home runs hurts your era a little bit), and a 3.65 era in June with a 19/7 strike-out to walk ratio (and only gave up 3 home runs).
Now, in his first two starts in July, Bush has pitched a stellar 16 innings with 20 strike-outs and 0 walks, not to mention only 2 earned runs (that's an era of 1.125). So Bush's spectacular play brings up a big question... who gets bumped when Suppan comes off the DL? You can't bump Manny Parra after how well he has pitched (In his last 6 starts he's given up 9 earned runs with 27 strikeouts and 19 walks in 37.1 innings) so to me, it looks like the odd one out is Seth McClung, not to say that McClung hasn't been a good pitcher. It looks to me that the only move to make is to designate Mota for assignment and move McClung to the pen.
Yes I know, I will admit it, I was excited earlier this year when I had heard that they signed Mota. Mostly because it was showing that the front office was willing to make a move to improve the team, but nevertheless, I was excited. But there comes a certain point where you have to cut your losses, and if not now, then when? The NL central is going to be decided by only a few games, and if we keep handing the game over to Mota, I am gonna have to go with the stats and assume that he is going to keep handing it over to the other team. Over his last 4 appearances, in 3 innings (including one where he gave up three runs without recording an out) he has given up 8 runs. His era in the month of July is 24! So then there are those of you out there who say "But what about Gange, he has been just as bad this year!" Trust me, I don't like defending Gange, he has been Terrible as a closer. Eventhough Gange's era as of today is a little higher (about .2) he has use outside of the closer's role, like trying him in the seventh inning where there isn't as much pressure. Not to mention designating a player for assignment that you are paying 10 million dollars to this year is just a bad decision.
Pitcher of the game: Dave Bush. Keep it ip big guy! Keep pitching like this and the Brewers will be unstoppable.
Position Player of the Game: Gabe Kapler. 3/4 with a run scored and 2 RBIs. But my personal favorite stats are 0 LOB and 0 strikeouts.
Play of the Game: Prince Fielder's career high tying 2nd triple of the year.
Question of the day: What would you do with the current pitching situation? Who would you designate for assignment/trade/demote when Suppan comes back?

Hello everyone!
My name is Mike Webster and I am a Sports Fanatic. I am a Wisconsin native (although I regrettably live in Illinois now) so I am a packers fan, but my first true love lies with the "smallest market" in baseball, my hometown team, the Milwaukee Brewers. My favorite players on the team are Ryan Braun and Yovani Gallardo, I make it to as many games as I can and I have almost half of the team's autographs. I follow the minor leaguers (all the way down to low class A West Virginia Power) and I follow the entire league. I will be writing about the Brewers mostly, expressing my own opinions and answering questions if I get any. My first subject related post will come tomorrow and I will do my best to have a new blog post for you everyday; however, I am just a college student and I do have things to do so bare with me if I miss a post of two.
